I Believe in Santa Claus

From Santa we learn to
give and receive.
From Jesus we learn to
love and be loved.
We love Him, because He first loved us.
(1 John 4:19)
Candlelit Family Home Evening.
Read: "I Believe in Santa Claus."
Santa Claus is a symbol of Christmas.
The symbols of Christmas can remind
us of the true meaning of Christmas.
The symbols of Christmas remind me of Christ.
So, I believe in Santa Claus.

Read Luke 2 aloud.
"For unto you is born this day
in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord..."

Talk about why we celebrate Christmas and what we can do
to remember the true meaning.

The book, a perfect introduction to our

12 Days of Christmas.

It has begun.

"As we express our Gratitude, we must never forget

the highest appreciation is not to utter the words,

but to live by them." JFK

The kids so excited.

Bundled up and headed out the door.

Gift in hand, sneek up to the house, ring the door....run! Happy hearts.

For giving is so much more rewarding than receiving.

Rewards on both ends.

Hopefully the little girl (more on her later!) we picked will be excited too.

Merry Christmas.

Love, the Stott's!

And may we all remember the true meaning of Christmas!

(and yes, the kids are in pajama's!)

You are a great example to your kids. They learn so much from you. I love your 12 days of Christmas. The person you are giving to will know they are loved. That's what it's all about this time of year and always. I love love "I Believe in Santa Claus." It's a must have for everyone. My very favorite book ever. Love the atmosphere you create in your home this time of year. It's contageous!! Thanks girl.

Cannot tell you how very appropriate your post was today. On our car ride home from school, my 11 year old asked me if there really was a Santa Claus. He began asking last year, as most of his friends told him there was not one. I was able to skip around the subject, but it has gotten harder, the older he has gotten. I am truly saddened (but knew it was inevitable at some point) as this is the loss of innocence for me. Being strong Christians and him attending a private, Christian School, I have been searching for the best way "to break the news to him." I was so excited to see this book that you mentioned, as I believe it sounds like a great way to incorporate the real truth, yet still cling to the thought of Santa. As a mom of 2, I long to hold onto that little bit of youth for as long as I can. May you and your family have a blessed Christmas!

Sincerely,
Amy ( a devoted follower from Louisiana) :)

I completely relate :) okay so the book is called, "I Believe in Santa Claus." written by Diane G. Adamson...it is the BEST book as it compares the similiarities betweet Santa Claus and the life of Christ. It is great!! Beautiful illustrations and easy for the kids to understand it. Amy..I also wanted to say..it is SO sad when the kids finally realize the "truth" about Santa!! We want the magic to continue and continue!!! so this book DOES help keep the magic alive...my older one's love it and it helps them understand the entire concept and true meaning of Christmas!!
Good luck!!

I have found the book online and look forward to ordering it. :) Hopefully, it will be here before Christmas, as I would love to be able to read it to the children. You are right...as a mom, I long for the innocence and magic to go on forever. There are just so few things that remain innocent among our children. I will let you know how it goes! :) Thanks again!
