Colorado Rocky Mountain High. Georgetown Loop

We love adventure. Here is another one:
Georgetown Railroad Loop.
One of our favorite things to do!
(mace is loving the train! zoooom!)
The views spectacular.
the day just perfect. the sun shining down.
Austin checking out the views...we loved this bridge!
we were so far UP.
I was afraid the train would blow right off the track . 100 feet up! yikes.
It was so fabulous!
We passed all the old mines and old train track.
The history of Georgetown is so intriguing...the town was started for it's Silver mining.
It was called the Silver Queen of Colorado.
.
By the way, have I mentioned how much I love CO mountains...
layers and layers of pines.
We drove main street and got good old fashioned ice cream!
(chocolate peanut butter is the best :)
WE then went to the cutest, most quaint park.
Tall trees with golden leaves, pines towering above the swings.
The kids were so happy.
RY threw the football with the kids and I read my book.
It was fabulous.
Another great day...thank you colorado :)
Now..the kids and I are OFF to Utah!
TAke me home to see those Rocky Mountains!
(and to see my family LOVE :)
xo!

Colorado Rocky Mountain AIR

We threw caution to the wind, we dumped our schedules-
and we took off-we didn't care.
We needed some good family time.
AND, even more so....
Us Stott's desperately needed to feel that Rocky Mountain air.
Our days have been such a blur, so busy.
Work, school, sports, life..
it was time.
Time for some moments. family- making- memory- moments.
We all jumped in the suburban and we were off to Estes Park..stop wherever,
feel the wind, fish in the lake, hike the trail, see the mountainside...
wherever the day took us.
and let me say, it was perfect.
such a perfect fall day, a moment.
Ones that Ry and I (and the kids of course,) don't forget.
The one's make life worth living, and remembering
(Ashlyn loving the horses...!)
It was such a beautiful happy day. We were loving it-
the boys found a lake to fish and
Ashlyn and I were walking along this dirt road.

we could have been out there all day...
The view from the Stanley Hotel towards Estes
(Steven King..the Shining.) Red Rum.
Supposedly this Hotel is haunted with all the spirits of F.O Stanley and Lord Dunraven.
My kids were loving the feeling of Halloween, October, and a haunted hotel :)
Stanley Hotel. Pumpkin LOVE.
( a wedding was going on that evening..how beautiful! the sun, the mountains..etc )
We ended up in Northern part of CO, stopped at a lake, fished some.
Looked at the horses, felt the warm, sunny breeze.
The boys threw the football and then we continued on to
Estes Park.
We stopped to watch the Elk, they were everywhere.
We then parked and walked the cutest main street,
shopped and bought knick knacks , treasures for each kid.
Ate local pizza on the street,
and then warm sugar cookies with pink frosting and colored sprinkles.
All the while looking up at those beautiful Rockies, the sun shining down.
The town so quaint with all it's leaves a yellow glow.
We definitely felt that beautiful moments of Fall--the wind a cool breeze,
the leaves rustling under our feet..
it was such a happy moment.
We then
headed up to the Stanley Hotel-
and checked out the ghosts and all the fun.
We walked around the white clapboard hotel and loved the simple moments.
We just did whatever we wished.
It was such a great day.
THe day's where memories are made.
The kids loved it and so did Ry and I,
We stopped life,
and lived. just. for. a. moment.
We all took a deep breath of that great CO Rocky Mountain air.
thank you Colorado.
Us Stott's appreciate ya for being so darn good to us.
xo!
~next post..our favorite place: Georgetown. the Railroad Loop.
We took a train up those Rockies, ate ice cream on main street,
bought geod rocks, and played at the park built in 1897. what a great weekend :)

I had to plan and host 14 youth at my house :) Halloween party)
phewy it's over.turned out great!)

(fabulous, always good to see family)

Welcome Fall.

I love you Fall.
I really do.
And can I say....fall brings so much
nostalgia
for me.
simply sweet.
I miss my Utah fam the most when the leaves change
and Halloween draws near.

Pumpkin pies start to appear at stores, and
Thanksgiving decorations are on the shelf.
o00h how I love these
next. few. months.

and can I say to you dear blog,
I miss you.
I simply do.
and I miss pictures and collages
and capturing life moment by moment.
my days are filled.
They are just so busy. but wonderful
Life is literally nonstop.
fun. enjoyment. fullfillment.
but so so
busy.
that is an understatement.
honestly.
I have never been this swamped.
I mean in a good way.
In a raising a family of four way.
The kids are so involved.
in school, in sports, and in all their activities.
Jake is competitive soccer, Ashlyn rec soccer.
Austin began competitive basketball and Jake overlaps
with basketball-
Ry with his softball leauges weekly,
my young women calling wednesday, sundays.
Love it all.
But honestly- non stop.
Last week I clocked 75-91 miles a day.
A day!
I burned through 2 tanks of gas in a 5 days.
And I can't complain, I love being a stay at home mama,
but man, we work overtime. Our days are crazy.
I am loving that fall is here, but had no time to take it all in.
I want to stop, enjoy the days, feel the breeze,
put my pumpkins out,
and feel the nostalgia.
We had soccer tournaments all weekend and basketball too.
7 games yesterday, all over this Denver area.
Ry and I love it. Love watching our kids excel and work hard.
Jakes team beat the #1 team (in State) Ireland! (yes finally!)
and Austin lead his tourn in rebounds (way to go bud!)
It teaches them so much about life, making goals, and following through.
It doesn't leave much time for much else.
school, work, sports, church and a little bit of play.
But I love you life, I really do.
As busy as you are, I am trying to soak up all of these little moments,
tuck you away and remember,
remember what it was like to be in the middle
of all of this hustle and bustle.
because I love it. and my life, and my kids.
and my dear husband who works so dang hard
so this can all happen.
I love you Ry
and
I love you my kids.
Now hopefully I can jump on board on blog again,
more consistently.
It's my favorite time of year,
the colors, the sights, the smells...
it is fabulous.
Welcome Fall.
xo!
