Top 13 reasons why I LOVED Mother's Day

Top 13 reasons:
(Flowers at the Mountain House)

#1. Mace running early into (my bedroom) to hug me and then realizing his Dad is home (from Colorado) runs over to his side of the bed, squeezes his neck and says, Happy Mother's Day DAD!" He was sooo happy to see Ry.

#2 Jake's card (homemade..the best!) telling me that
"I make the whole wide world better" and "the world is beautiful because I am in it." and then signing his card, Love Your Tootsie eyes. (my fav. name I call Jake:)

#3. A Hubby who did everything. From breakfast in bed (eggs, spinach, toast, and fresh O.J) to a lovely card with a page of his own sweet words. He got the kids ready for church, picked up the house, did dishes, and vacuumed. He also surprised me with my fav choc. covered cinnamon bears (yum!) and gift cards to my favorite shops.

#4. The kids belting out Happy Mother's Day song to the Happy Birthday tune while I ate breakfast in bed.
>
#5 Mace whispering sweet nothings in my ears all day long. He would say, "Happy mudder's Day, I love you Mudder, You are the best Mudder ever..." It was sweet.

#6 Austin's watercolor painting! He made a special painting of a Poppy Flower. He worked so hard on it. (my cute neighbor and Austins art teacher, Kari Tarbet) S U R P R I S E D me and had it custom framed at Reuel's Art and Frame!
I saw it and was blown away. It made me cry.

It's going up front and center at the new house!

I LOVE the colors!

#7. Listening to RY (while getting Mace ready for church upstairs) to get Mace to sing to me at the Primary Program for church. Mace wouldn't have anything of it....(Ry tried for a looong time. it didn't work. but it was cute to try!)

#8. Watching Aus, Ash, and Jake sing to me at the Mother's Day program. And watching Jake's cute smile and big eyes (he never stopped looking at me once!) . I love those primary programs every year. They make mama's cry...

#9 Ashlyn's turquoise bracelet she made me. With a bird and a heart attached. My favorite! She made me two beautiful bracelets.

#10. The sunshine! It was a beautiful day.
We spent most of the day outside.

After church we went to our favorite park (Granite park), on our favorite walk, played outside with Dad...it was so lovely! I soaked up the warmth.

Kids miss Ry. They loved playing with him and I loved watching them.

Ashlyn and I's favorite walk! Granite park
The Mountains were beautiful!

On our nature walk we saw people on horseback, spiders, red ant hills, snake holes and amazing views.

#11. Receiving texts from all my girlie's wishing me a Happy Mother's Day...(Nancy, Nat, Kim, Cindee, Rob....thank you girls!) (and btw, we celebrated my mom's mother's day on Saturday and RY's mom the week before...it was all my day. nice!)

#12. My bro-in-laws (Tyler's) Flan. What a treat. My sis called me over for some homemade flan. They know I L O V E flan and had to have a piece.

It was seriously DIVINE!

#13. Last but not least: My kids telling me I am irreplaceable. period.
I feel it is a women's divine role to be a mother.
And I love. it. every. single. day.

Thanks Ry and the kids for making my day so great!

Love you and Happy Mother's Day!!

Birthday girl.

Amber,
Happy Birthday Sister!

Thanks for living 5 houses away and being there for me every single day!

Thanks for letting my kids walk in and out of your house, feeding them dinner at nights, letting them stay all day, loving them like your own.

Thanks for all of our summer, fall, spring and winter walks. An hour getaway with a sis is heaven sent....talking and talking, about life, about motherhood, and kids.

Thanks for all your delicious treats at my doorstep, your golden chocolate chip cookies, your peanut brittle...but my all time favorite: your soft, twisty, cinnamon bread sticks. You are a baking queen and yes, you need to publish a book...you are amazing!

Thanks for being mason's second mother. I mean it.. for reals! I think that's what breaks my heart the most...Mace losing his mama! Your hugs, your quick trips to the 7-11 for Slurpee's, your tea parties...oh the sweetness you give to Mace and thus to me! It means the world....

Thanks for being my sis on lonely days, grabbing a diet coke, chatting the long afternoons away, taking the kids to East Sandy, the parks, hanging out, feeling the warm sun....love it!

Thanks for the summer of '09. It wouldn't of been the same without you. The secret pool summer will go down in the history books.....hot summer sun, hanging at the pool for hours and hours, letting the cousins play till their hearts are so happy..oh those are the DAYS!

And thanks sis, for your "heart!" Yes you should know what I am talking about...you would give anything and everything to help somebody. Your example of service to all of us is amazing. Your hot cooked dinners, your babysitting our kids, your sweet words and kind gestures.....they do NOT go unnoticed. If someone in our family needs help, you are always the first one there. What an example to me...

In the end Sis, Happy Birthday, I am so so so lucky to have you in my life. And yes, you are one of my best friends in this whole world. Oh my heart right now! I will need you so much in the next few months.....but sister, Happy Birthday from me, from my kids, from Mace and Ry. We love you, and appreciate you in the Stott life. We love you! You are a fab sis and friend. Thanks for all you do.

Hope you have a great birthday! We will be seeing you today (soon!) Lots of celebrations!
Cheers to 34 fabulous years!
love you! Tawny

Christmas magic, kids happy hearts, Merry Christmas

The big day had arrived!
The Stott children had whispered into Santa's ear
all their little wishes...

It was Christmas Morning!
What a joyous moment.
After all our Christmas Eve traditions...
(dinner, gifts of love, Christmas toast by candlelight, I believe in Santa Clause book)
Kids went to bed at 11:00 ish...
and then Aus woke the rest up at 4:38!
(Jake was pooped)

Oh Man!
us parents were tired!
It took Santa a long time to arrive!

But the morning soon came....and the kids were so happy.
6:00 on the dot, our cell phone rang,
the kids were awake up in the boys room...
(they all sleep together every Christmas Eve)
time to let the fun begin.

Ohhh they were happy.

Ashlyn fainted when she saw her stocking and gifts from Santa.

they just stared at all the Santa gifts, before they tore in...

After they open their stocking gifts and played with their Santa's gifts,
we open the rest one by one.
It was so fun as parents to see the joy in their little eyes.
That's all the really matters.
Ry and I didn't even notice our own gifts to each other...
satisfactions is enough watching your children and their happiness
It was a beautiful, happy, Santa, kid morning!

And for me, at this moment, all my work had paid off:
Shopping, finding the deals, running all over the valley, errands, chores,
ALL the stress over making Christmas a little sweeter for the the kids.
All our Christmas Family Home Evenings, our 12 days, our manger gifts to each other...finally it all had come to fruition.
What a day!
What a moment.
I love it.
I felt so happy.
It. was. a. good. day.

And the best part, with the gifts A L L opened:
watching the kids enjoy.
Riding scooters through the house, playing music on the i touch,
eating candy out of their stockings,
their little hearts so happy that the day had come.

And Mace didn't get off his scoot all day.
He zoomed away all afternoon..
2 miles an hour! perfect
I love it..Black Friday special $49 Wallmart!
yay for a good deal!

With all the presents gone and cleaned up,

it was time for Christmas Breakfast!

And I was lovin' a clean mantle again!

(Remember I decorated before Thanksgiving?!)

I didn't set the table, I had to much on it.

Instead we ate at the bar.

It was delicious.

Warm cinnamon rolls, eggs, sausage, bacon, orange julius....

And I was about to crash....

I had gotten no sleep (probably like you all)

But it was all good.

So worth it.

I love Santa.

Oh what a lovely day.

We went to the Mountain House at noon with all the cousins.

Grandma fed us more delicious food and we opened more gifts.

My mom got the perfect gifts for each kid..they were happy!

(she made Ashlyn a beautiful quilt...I will need to post it!)

Then we were off to Ry's house for a couple of hours...

more gifts, more fun.

What a day.

Cheers to Christmas 2009!
What a year what a year.

On to new adventures and new journeys for 2010, oh what will it bring!?
I will leave with a few of my favorite colors of 2009.
yes color.
I love the colors of Christmas.
I will miss the oranges of fall and the reds, golds, and greens of winter.
Off to white snow. boring.
Hmmm. When is spring again?

Merry Christmas everyone.
Love you all!
