Have you heard of these books??
My kids love to read and are always looking for something new.
We found one:
A new series written by a BYU graduate:
Brandon Mull's Fablehaven's books.
The series just hit 4th on the New York Best Seller List.
Well.
My twins found out he was doing a book signing at Costco from 5 to 7.
They had to G O!!
They begged and pleaded! They wanted to meet the famous author and tell him they LOVED his books. Especially book #2 and the main characters Kendra and Seth.
Puuuuhlease mom. please!
We had a million things to do (swim team, dinner, homework),
but I dropped them and we went.
Ummm when we got there at 5:00, the line was out the Costco building and wrapped around the back. I asked the kids to drop it and go home, but nope, Ash and Aus hopped out of the car and said NO WAY. They stood in the cold 41 degrees and blustery winds.
I sat in the Costco food court.
I bought them hot dogs, a churro and bought myself a book and waited for them to round inside to the warmth. (yes I checked on them)
Well time was ticking and I didn't think we were going to make it.
6:00 then 6:20, 6:30, we weren't that close.
The kids worried not to make it, but so determined.
They were to close the line at 7:00 SHARP.

They were so excited! They couldn't believe he was there in person and that he signed their books and gave them an autographed bookmark too. Ashlyn told him she loved book #2 and he was a great author. He asked her about the characters and she was so shy but so excited to talk to Brandon Mull.
The whole way home they talked and talked about their 1 minute conversation with the author. You would think they won the lottery.
As hard as it was to get out the door, I was glad to take them. Anytime my kids are excited over books and reading, I'm on board!
