Sun, Sand, and Waves 2009. My official post!

first glimpse of the beach! yay. The kids went a running for the beach! Our house wasn't ready for an hour so we parked at the curb and the kids were outta there! they couldn't wait one more second!
(and why is the pic cutting off Jake?? argh. )

Our tradition:
The Beach house for a week.

Oceanside, California

(and I decided to make picture collages because I took so many! I had to consolidate.
I love the beauty of the beaches....
It was lots of fun to put it all together!)

We love it, every year.

Plain and simple.

Waves, sun, and sand.

My kids are in heaven.

We go to the beach Saturday through Saturday.

In attendance: Stott fam, Larsen fam, Monsen fam, and Brown fam

Linds and Bran Monsen fam, Mcneill fam, plus extended Monsen fam!

7 long days on the beach!
Every day our routine was:

wake up to nice ocean breeze,

get a dozen of SK's donuts,
(Oh my!.... homemade, hot, fresh donuts),

put our suits on, grab the boogie boards

and H E A D on O U T to the waves!

BUT, first,

I would wake up at 6:30 and run

my little heart away. I loved it.

The air was so easy to breathe

( I was 52oo feet lower! that's a mile and a half lower...!!)

and the wind blew through my hair!

It was such happy days for me!

How do I say it all?

classic pier pic and yes Mace is full on asleep!
We had such a great time.

We love to go this time of year for the

great weather, empty beaches

and no lines at Disneyland!

We have many traditions at the beach:

places we go to dinner, the Harbor, shopping, farmer's markets, the pier, candy shop, Disney, bonfires, late night walks, early morning runs, fishing....it goes on and on.

We L O V E our week!

We hang together all day and night!

cousin love for sure

Fun, fun, fun.

Why does it go by soooo fast??

cousins cousins cousins!

My kids are close to the same age as my sis and bro's.

The kids hang out together every day. We are lucky!

All us parents would hang out, chat, E A T, read, boogie board, E A T, play beach games with the kids, E A T, and just have a great time.

It's a win win.

The kids are happy 24/7 so the adults are happy.

It's such an easy, low key trip.

The sunsets were beautiful.

The sun would set right over the ocean horizon.

We would try to watch it every night....

I think if I lived in a Beach city I would be so happy (always!)

So much beauty here! (and N O snow. brrr)

Ry and the boys.

The walk out to Ruby's at the end of the pier is a little less than a mile.

My kids favorite nights is when we would stroll on down to Ruby's and get their famous shakes and fries.

The cousins would all run together while the adults would walk behind. I loved seeing the kids in such a

happy place

Man we had a great week,
Great memories, and Great times....
We will be back oh yes we will.

Thanks to the beach for making us all so happy!

I'm lucky to have such a great family to share it with!

Till next year. 2010 (that's too far away..sigh)

(and pray for no sting rays, good thing we left that day,

4 stings in two hours!)

Thanks again to all who went this year..we love you!

It's great to spend quality time with each other and get to hang out all day and night! thanks guys!

Cheers to another year. ( 11 yrs strong...!)
