I love it. I open her shutters and look out. That is South, towards Denver.
Blue skies, always. Simple. Beautiful.
With Christmas finally down, it's time to redo, reorganize.
I want clean, simple lines.
Fresh happy colors.
Simplify.

I had to keep my wreaths up.
They are simple.
They are pretty.
They make me happy.
I bought all the kids the cutest simple magnet boards for their rooms.
Easy way to put up fun pics of themselves.
Remember the fun times.
Add color and texture.
Personalize their room,
Simplify.
(and do you like my new flowers and sconces for the hallway?
soon their will be butter yellow paint behind them!)

Now with all that said.
Here is my thought and goal for 2011.
Dear journal,
Every year I want a theme. Last year. gratitude.
This year: simplify (plus gratitude. (always). family and passion.
Simply said..yes. BUT, I don't think our lives are ever simple.
We are mom's. busy mom's. never stop running around mom's.
With kiddo's and LOTS of schedules...
but I would love to stop and focus on what
really matters in life.
simplify.
if at all possible.
even if it's
to sit for 5 minutes
and
refocus.
I also (this year) want to remind the kids (daily) to be gracious in all things,
and live life with a passion...
whether it's their school work, their basketball team, a new friend...
to be passionate, for them to embrace the moment, live. each. day.
But with days like this, I know it will take much effort to focus,
to simplify, and to be gracious.
But, man oh man, I will try.
Today was one busy day. 1/11/11
I felt like I did 1,111,111 million things.

Simplify it? I could try.
But maybe refocus or prioritize is what's important.

and be there for the kids always.
I love it. so busy. incredibly busy.

BUT I would never change it.
simplify. gratitude. family. passion. love.

Ash's view is so beautiful with the blanket of snow and blue sky. I would lay on her bed all day. Ya right. I love SIMPLIFY. I taught that lesson in December and it's one of my goals too. Don't take on more than I already have and learn to say NO if needs be. I'm not good at that. It's our time of life to be crazy with our kids. We can enjoy the craziness if we try. One day we will miss. I love your schedule for 1-11. It will be fun to look back on. I love all your new decor. Can't wait to see the butter cream yellow paint. That's my favorite and it makes everything so happy. You go girl!!! You have more energy than the bunnies in your yard.
January is half over!!!!
I sure enjoyed reading your reflections. They make perfect sense to me and even if not always accomplished, nothing is accomplished without thinking about it first. So, I am proud of you. And I love 1.11.11. So cool.
Love,
Mom
