They did it. They are 12.
Austin got ordained a deacon.
Ashlyn entered into Young Women's
(yes push play on my soundtrack. I love that song I tell ya!)

Brother Ashby called them up to the stand and he welcomed then into YM and YW. It was awesme. simply awesome. Such a big word to use, maybe not the right one, but my heart felt so big. and full. and ready to burst. I think with joy and just simply gratitude. for my oldest two.

I took Austin to Macy's and bought him his first suit. A Calvin Klein suit with a Michael Kors (sp?) tie. Austin was (soooooooooo) excited to wear it to church. To stand up, to represent, to become a young man. He knows he is growing and progressing and he fully understands his new responsibilities as a deacon.

Man, I am lucky to have this boy. I love him. He is quiet, but strong. So strong underneath. He knows who he is, what he wants,
and the what he needs to do.
I started to cry. To myself. When I saw Ry with Austin. Helping his with his tie.

It was a mama moment for me. (my bonus!)
A progression in time, in life.
My Austin was going from boy to man.
I love love this pic.

Ashlyn looked dashing. We bought her a dress at Macey's at well. New shoes and a cardigan. She wore her Young women medallion (she got from grandma Suzy thank u!) She was ready for her day.

I couldn't say enough. about these two. I am just so proud. proud. proud. And I love these two with all my heart. Amazing how a mother feels. We don't divide it, we just add. more. love.

The twins love young women's and young men's. They already got to go to the Temple and do Baptisms. WOW. They loved it and will never forget that experience. They came home beaming and so excited. There were 24 deacons and beehives. Austin drove with our Bishop ( I can't tell you how much I love our bishop. He is truly amazing. He makes our ward so great)
They left the ward house at 5:00 and didn't get home till almost 11:00 at night. They took the hour and half drive down to the Temple. They got ice cream after. My kids just love being part of such a good group of kids. And as a mom, I couldn't be more grateful. period. This time in their lives is so critical. This time shapes them, molds them, their self-esteem so critical. Friendships, influences...it all becomes part of who they are. and I am so so grateful for our gospel.

IT is a ROCK in their lives.
The cool thing, I just called as the camp director for Young Women's. I share the responsibility with another lady. I am thrilled! I get to go to girls camp with 26 girls. And...my Ashlyn :) I love Primary ( and still teach weekly) but have now started planning thems, devotionals, crafts..etc for these girls. I hope I can make a difference.
This week the twins get to go boating down in Boulder at a member's private lake. They are going to the lake house and go water skiing. Pretty cool eh? I get to go too! I love serving with these kids. They are our future. They are so important. AND I sure hope as a mother, I am doing all I can to help their progression and growth..sometimes I wonder if I am doing enough. This world is so scary, with so much evil around them. We must always be on our call and protect our youth, but also prepare them for what lies ahead. Oh it can be hard. but encouraging on wonderful days like these.
Love u kids! :)

I have so many things to say:
1. You are drop dead gorgeous, my friend.
2. Your kids are also gorgeous.
3. You will make the BEST camp director. I can't wait to hear what darling things you came up with.
4. Do not doubt in your mothering skills because you can just tell your kids are really good kids. And YOU are a big reason why they are so strong.
5. That picture where Ryan is helping Austin with his tie is so precious. It's a moment that I look forward to with the 2 men in my life :)
