Road to Hana. B E A U T I F U L

simply amazing.
What a day. The Road to Hana!
Spectacular!
I wish I could say it was fabulous sunny day, but it wasn't!
It rained. and rained.
for 12 hours straight.
But that sure didn't stop us.
We just loved it!
Ry feeling the ocean BREEZE!
We left at 7:00 a.m. and didnt' get home till almost 8:00 p.m.
We hiked, explored, and journeyed
through the beautiful wet island of Maui.
I can't say enough how beautiful it was.
(and I can imagine with the sunshine, how amazing it would of been..)
and NO I didn't pose. Ry and I took pics at every stop. random shots.
I look at these pics, and it all comes back.
I just loved that day. It was so fun to be in the tropical Hawaii.
I couldn't get enough.

Our favorite spots:
The Black Sand Beach (and the blow holes)
and definitely the Seven Pools of Oheo. hands down.
(I'm walking towards Ry on the edge. We all had to stop and LOOK at the view....
can YOU say Jurassic Park?!?)
OH wow!

tropical
lush beauty :)

Halfway through the Road to Hana,
we found a little Coconut shop. so cute :)
we bought homemade banana bread and mango juice.
Black Sand Beach.
We spent a couple hours here. WE loved it. It was unreal! :)
The beach was truly black! and when you pick up the sand, it wasn't sand,
it was tiny lava rocks...
the water was a turquoise blue.
it felt so good on my feet!

look closely!
teeny tiny rocks :)
my foot! with the rocks. awesome!
Ry and I on the BEACH :)
We went exploring all along the beach.
We found a spot with multiple blow holes.
Ry and I stacie were NOT afraid to crawl on down to the rocks
and check them out.
Dangerous..you can't tell, but the waves were crashing against the lava rock!

I L O V E this pic.
Stacie on top of the Lava Arch!
aww so cool!
The Seven Pools of Oheo!
My FAVORITE!
it was spectacular!

Ry and D hanging out.
It was the end of the day...
and we were SO tired.
But loving every second.
trees with long vines hanging down..TARZAN
On the hike up to the top pools of Oheo, (4 miles up to see all 7 pools)
I broke my flip-flop!
(I slipped down the mud! it was funny. and bruised my foot. ouch)
I tried to fix it over and over, but finally I just threw it out and spent the
rest of the day in bare feet. awesome.

We ended the Road to Hana by driving around the entire island!
We didn't turn around and drive back the 45 (hair pin, curvy) miles,
instead we just kept going. We rented a convertible jeep for this reason.
We knew we wanted to go around the entire island.
It was an unpaved, small dirt road that went around the back end. The dry part.
Really dry. It was shocking to see the difference ! wow.
It was stunning. The road lined the ocean.
There were some really high parts winding down the hills.
It was scary but just so beautiful! We saw a few small homes and a church
nestled right along the ocean shore.
Wild pigs and hens running around.
so cool. What a day, one I will NEVER forget.
what an experience! Thank you again Ry!
