summer.

Sun up to sun down...

The Stott's are OUT!

Our new social life is pretty good = Our neighborhood rec center = the best.

Considering we left so much family and cousin love,

we have an instant social life here. (we are so lucky for that!)

We have spent all week there.

Going back tomorrow.

Ashlyn joined the local swim team (very low key) for the summer...

she can ride her bike there.

It was so fun to watch her in the water again....

I love summer mornings. love, love, love!

Simply the best.

Summer rejuvenates me for the rest of the year.
oh yes.

The sun makes me so happy.
(everything it represents:)
outdoors, pools, bbq's, fire pits,
playing all day!

We got to the pool today at 1:00 and stayed till 7:00.

I chatted with my new friends (yay!)

and the kids played the summer day away.
(we have been so lucky to already find a group of 6-8 mom's with kids my kids age!)

It was so lovely.

Really that is what summer is all about:

No stress, no schedules, no running around....

Just simply playing and hanging out together. In my rec center, one of my favorite rooms is called the

TWEEN rooms.

The kids go in there and plaaaaay.

The boys play fusbal and Ashlyn checks her emails.

The kids think it is pretty fabulous and so do I.

We played hoops for an hour or so and then it was craft time.

The kids made father's day cards...all of it free of charge.

Every day they host an activity for the kids.

Tomorrow it was sharks and minnos,

Thurs is movie day and Friday is game day at the pool.

Jakers and Aus are fitting right in (as best as they can for now!) with all the boys.

They played baseball in the circle this morning from 8:00 till 11:00.

Then the neighbors cooked them pancakes.

Lots of boys playing baseball, soccer..etc. awesome.

and you know me....

The sun, a diet coke, and a good book...

One happy mama!
(that was after a 5 mile run, weeding for 2 hours,

and getting all the kids chores done (kids work one hour every day! it helps me tons! and then they can buy their own treats at the pool with their allowance)...

love it!

Loves to you!
p.s. tonight we are doing smores in the backyard with the fire pit and off to Boulder for a hike/fish this weekend...fun fun..

Good ole' summertime

Summer is flying on by....It is great. The kids love it and I almost do too ,

but can I say I can't.quite.keep.up.

I do admit I am a bit surprised-

I thought we would have lots of time laying around,

having lots of lazy summer days,

just.simply.doing.nothing.

Boy was I wrong.

We haven't stopped for a second.

Maybe

it's was our vaca's to Moab and Ohio,

or my parents coming home in 4 days, or maybe it's

going to the secret pool almost every day....

or diet coke and McDonald french fry days at the park with the cuz's...

All I know is summer is going way too fast,

and I want it to s l o w down

because we A R E having so much fun.

Granted it is so much more work for us mom's..right?

(and it's okay I'm not quite keeping up)

because it is N O N S T O P

24/7

The house always needs to be picked up, lunch seems to be all day, there are never enough popsicles, lost goggles for the pool, swim team practice, packing park picnics, feeding all the neighborhood kids, loading all the Koolaid cups in the dishwasher, oh and cooking dinner every night at dusk. We eat suuuper late now.

But overall, I will take hot summer days anytime!

I love to go outside and breathe in the hot air, feel the 85 degree hot sunshine beating on my skin,

(with 50 spf sunblock of course!)

and sitting at the pool all day long.

This is what I wait for all year long....

So noooo complaining here....

~Today's Thrillin: Fountains at the Gateway~

Water, sun, cousin love, snow shacks, Mc'D fries (again),
and good times!

(all the little things is what makes it count~)

After we soaked in the fountains for a couple of hours, Ry came down from work and said hi to the kiddos. Looove that Fidelity Investments is smack in the middle of Gateway. (left building in the pic) sooo fun!

(4-pack)
Now I need to go and start life:

Clean this crazy house, put away loads of laundry, and think of something good for dinner that's not snow shack or a popsicle.

I need to get something done around here!

and not lots of time for blogging or anything that requires time for just ME because summer is happening around here....

But oh well it doesn't really matter not much is getting done because

we are loving summertime.

Hope you are too! Happy summer to ya'll!
