Honors to Aus!

Wow, what a special night for Austin....Once in a lifetime honors:
Inter FC, Austin's soccer team, got invited by the Salt Lake Real Soccer team to play a 6 v. 6 game at halftime. It was Real's first playoff game. Inter couldn't believe that they picked them..! They played in front of 10,000 soccer fans. Is there a better dream for a 9 year old boy?? Austin plays on a competitive team. He was asked to be on the team 2 years ago. He loves it. He gives a lot of time and dedication to the team. We have 3 practices a week and at least 5 games a weekend. (they played from Provo to Salt Lake to Layton weekly)
We had a friend night dinner already planned with 14 of Ryan (and now mine) best friends from highschool. Ryan didn't hesitate to cancel his plans and take Austin to the game. I was so sad I couldn't go watch such an eventful night. Mason would not last a minute in the 30 degree temp. I told Aus as he walked out onto the field"to look up at all the lights and the crowd and remember this moment."

Saying goodbye, wishing I was there! I did at least go to dinner for a little bit with our friends.

The boys walking out to the field.

Austin is #23. They played eachother...6 versus 6.

Walking onto the field. Aus is in the back with his arms up

I love this picture because Aus is doing what me and Ry told him to do....Looking up and remembering. (He is in far back with just his face looking up)

3 words to describe his night: awesome, amazing, and so fun. His favorite part was the crowd giving them high fives as they left the field.
Good Job Austin, me and dad are so proud of you.

how fun. i never got to do anything fun like that on my sports teams as a kid. i remember once though i got to go to a womens' u of u basketball game and wipe up their sweat during half-time. that actually BLEW. i'd have rather stayed home. :) but what a fun experience for aus!

I agree with Brie. What an awesome experience for him (and you and Ry).
One thing though.....did you seriously miss that because you didn't want to take Mason? If so, I am actually offended that you wouldn't ask me to babysit.

Brooke, Of course you would babysit. Everything came up so fast and we just worked it out! I know you would do anything for me. I appreciate it!

It was definitely a bonding experience for the boys. They all had a fab time watching Austin and the SL REAL team. It was awesome!
