Hives, bribes, and icecream rewards

Mom's here we go again: Can you relate to me?? 3 words all moms hate: Child Wellness Checkups. Why do our cute, little children have to go to a kagillion check ups before they turn 2? And I swear they get more shots than ever before. They keep inventing more. I know, I know..its all for the "health" of the child. What about the sanity of the mom taking the poor child into the doomed doctors office? Mace had his 2 yr today and yup, he is 2 yrs and 7 months old! I wasn't a bad mom and just forgot, oh no, I put it off for my sake! By my 4th child you think I would be a pro at it. Well I am, in fact, worse at it. My wall of being brave and not flinching when they poke my baby 5 times has gotten old! And Mace definitely out of all my four has major trauma, anxiety, and fears. Honestly, when I turned into the parking lot, Mace knew and begged me, "Please mommy, no doctor, mommy yet's go bye-bye. Please mommy no doctor, mommy's yet's go bye- bye!" Oh how my heart ached knowing what was ahead of Mace and me. It only got worse and the next 42 minutes felt like 10 hours and 42 minutes. To sum it up, Mace was fine, only one shot (yeah!) and we all survived. That's not to say he didn't repeat that statement maybe 500 times to me, develop hives, develop a hot, red sweat over his entire body, and was completely hysterical. But it's over...no more till he turns 3! Celebration!
By the Way, does it ever make you laugh inside your head when the pediatrician (who btw, has never had kids, but I do love) trys to talk to your 2 year old like he is a 21 year old adult . "Now Mason, let's calm down, and everything will be just fine....Just stop crying for one second and I can listen to your heartbeat and blah blah." I am thinking, just hurry up, get this over with, give him his shots, so we can get out of here! Phew we all survived....rewards were in store for Mace.. Nothing icecream couldn't fix....

Oh and a Handy Manny Saw and a Spongebob backpack.....Seems like a lot for a 2 year old but he deserved a big, huge present. Besides at the Mountain House we have NO toys out for Mace, they are all packed away. So he needed a few toys, don't you think?

And I deserved a big, huge, Vanilla Diet Coke from the Iceberg!
And I had to get hot, crispy, french fries with fry sauce. That is so good...salty and sweet. Why do people even bother with Mcdonalds when we have iceberg??

I promised Mace a little cousin time at the mall. I met Brie and Amber at Southtowne for some good shopping. Here is Mace with lil' Cade man. They are 3 mos. apart. They love and hate eachother :)

And to make it all sweeter...the mall was decked out in Christmas. Yeah, I love the feeling of the hustle and bustle at the mall. Happy times. Happy times.
