A day to remember....

Besides my wedding day and the birth of my four children,

this day was the most glorious....

For my 30th birthday-

Ryan asked me to marry him

again.

second time, on top of a mountain,

on his knees,

with a new ring.

Glorious setting: warm summer day, blue skies, soft breeze

overlooking Parley's canyon and Park City

Professed his love for our marriage and the birth of our four children...

Couldn't wait to share the next 60 gazillion years together (Eternity)...

raising our four children and all that life has to hold...good and bad. success and failures-

together. always.

I cried and couldn't expect such a sweet suprise..

fell in love all over again.

I will always remember that warm summer day...full of sweet words and love

I am a lucky girl...

happy (almost) anniversary Ry..

you know my heart is yours...

for the next gazillion years to come..........

B L E S S E D ....My family.........love you~

~Our song: True Companion by Marc Cohn.. luv it (2nd on playlist)
~I wish I had pictures of that day but I didn't have my camera b/c I didn't know he was going to surprise me. We were at the Marriot Mountainside in Park City and Ry took me up the scenic chairlift to the top....the first picture is a real pic overlooking Park City..it's beautiful! (pic courtesy of Tyler Gourley)

~oh and for the record, today I ran my 12 miles in good time and thankfully NO blizzard, yay.

Family ( I need to clarify my past twin post..!)

Twins are everywhere in my family:

I am a twin. (Not to Robyn but to my cute bro, Troy. Triplets would be fun though!)

I have my own set of twins:
Austin and Ashlyn

I have siblings who are twins:

Brett (with his adorable wife Angela) and Brie (with her little boy Cade)

My sister Misty had twins....Dax and Trey, my Mace is in the middle..

I could go on and on about twins in my family...aunts, uncles, grandparents who are twins...we have 41 sets of boy/girl twins from my great-great-great grandparents...

SO NO it's not true: twins do not skip generations!! WE have oodles to prove it.

I have 5 sisters and 4 brothers.....

and 10 amazing, wonderful in-laws.....!

By the way, speaking of family, I can't get this off of my mind. I posted 9 days ago about my friends daughter who was diagnosed with a brain tumor on March 4. I just got an update on Savannah Grace a few days ago and I have been so sad thinking of her prognosis. She has a very aggressive brain tumor (they did get 80% out).... but she has stage 3 cancer. She needs intense chemo and radiation...PLEASE pray for her. All thoughts and prayers will help her.

Savannah reminds me how precious life is.... Just on March 4th she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and now she is facing the biggest trial of her life.
As a mother, I can't help but think of my own daughter and how I would feel with this new prognosis. I don't think I could face it. But I'm so grateful for a faith where I believe in knowing there is someone above watching over and directing our lives...I also can't help but remember to cherish each day we get to spend with our loved ones....and to live each day to the fullest. Thanks for your prayers.

Happy Birthday Robyn

March 22nd....Happy Birthday Robyn! Today is a special day because it is my twin sister's birthday!! Let me tell you a few things about this girl:

1. Loves her life....she is passionate and determined to live each day to make it her best day.

2. A fabulous momma to 4 b e a u t i f u l children inside and out. Her children play every sport, get good grades, and are soooo well-mannered...AND it's not fair, they are knock-outs....they should really model for Gap, I tell her that all the time. I always look to her as such a good example of what a mother is.

3. She works hard, challenges herself, is determined, and always focused. Can I just say Marathon in 2 months?? Primary president to over 100+ kids, and plays on a hoops team 3 times a week...
(Her sister, Dawn, me, and Rob. running at the SL half marathon 2008!)

4. Loves to laugh and smile. She attracts people to her like a magnet and I think she has like 10,940 friends. People looove to be around her. She is one of those people you want to be around because she is so happy and positive.

5. She is kind and caring and always wanting to help those around her. About 5 years ago, around Thanksgiving time, her son, Alec and her started a fundraiser called For the Warmth of the Children. They gather 100's and 100's of gloves, hats, and socks to give to all the children living in the shelters around the valley. Amaaaaazing. It has grown each year and they have blessed so many children. you can check it out here. and her own blog here.

6. This list could go on and on but lastly I will end with that I love her and she is one of my dearest, bestest friends. I look to her for advice and encouragement. I am so grateful for that fateful day when we met 9 years ago in our ward over at the River bottoms. The second I met, I knew we would be friends forever...

Oh and btw, she is N O T my twin sister...she just looks like it and people say it all the time so we just go with it....(I have a twin brother but he wouldn't mind if he had another sis like Rob!)

Love ya girl! Happy Birthday.

it's okay because....

Okay, besides the fact that Ry and I are not flying off to sunny Naples, Florida today for President's circle and besides the fact that we should be sipping pina coladas on the beautiful beach, getting massages, eating the most delectable foods and receiving gifts on our pillows at night.....(boo to the bad economy and the company cancelling pres cir)

Today is still glorious because: I got a tan line.

I went to the sunny park with the girls for 2 1/2 hrs.....(seriously this has been 6 months in the waiting...!) Cute Kim with cute Gabrielle...!

I ran 9.4 miles in the sunrise.

I got the biggest vanilla, diet coke at the 7-11

I cancelled Mace's doctor appt...he feels better after a 5 day flu.....back to getting good sleep for both of us. t h a n k g o o d n e s s

I didn't cook dinner because the honey is off to March Madness.

I bought day old shamrock sugar cookies with green icing and ate 4. yum.

I didn't have to drive A L L over the valley for soccer practices . Y A Y . Y A Y. Y A Y. (that's tomorrow..)

I went to the Home Depot for paint (yes paint :) for an accent wall in Ashlyn's room

I pulled out all of my summer shorts and capri's

The pockets are deeeelicious.....love you buckle.

I ate the rest of my-welcome-to-the neighborhood-cupcakes the nice neighbors brought over (okay not A L L by myself, the kiddos helped me!)

and lastly, it's still sunny outside, no clouds, no rain...the weekend forecast is 68 degrees and sunny...glorious. yes, yes indeed. The kids are thrilled and soooo happy to be out..that means mom is happy too...cheers to the sun! ( and I'm okay with no trip now.....who needs Florida, right?! ha)
