2009 fun run

2009 F U N R U N.

Every year the kids school puts on a 2 mile race.....

Some kids jog, others walk with friends, and some try to win-

We are in the last category!

Pic of the starting line.
(doesn't that look so cool?!)

-beautiful morning, blue skies with a slight breeze-

Kids lined up. hearts a pumpin'

police escorts,

American flags,

encouraging parents,

running shoes ready to go....

bring it on.....

Jakers waiting to start....
Every year my kiddos have earned a medal and been in the top 3.

We are not the psycho parents who make their kids train or pressure them to win. But my kids have always wanted to win. Because they play year round sports, they have always had enough endurance and been able to pull through.
Last year Aus got 1st and Jake got 2nd

Cute cops-
It makes it exciting to have the cops on their motorcycles.

....

Kids lining up by grade...oldest to youngest so no one gets
t r a m p l e d...

Here we go!

woohoo, it's race time...line it up!
Ashlyn is in the pink top. Austin is in the white shirt, blue bottoms.

They were nervous - I couldn't get them to eat breakfast!

Not so good for energy- but off they went....

Ry and I run with the kids every year.

But Ry couldn't help with his ankle so I was torn who to run with-Ash or Jake....(I can't keep up with Aus anymore..)

So I decided to run with Jake b/c he was younger but a mile into the race, Jake had to stop b/c of a cramp....I decided to run on and catch Ashlyn.

My friend Kim told me Ash was at the front of the pack....even the boys.

So I cut through a street and caught up to her.

In her little voice Ashlyn said, " I (breathe) AM (breathe) IN (breathe) THE (breathe) LEAD. (big breathe).

even the boys, MOM!"

I love that girl....

She was tired and we were almost at the end. I said a few encouraging words and then she looked at me and said "ok, this is it, gotta give it all I got..." And off she went.

Ahh, I felt proud of her. Ashlyn ended up beating every boy but 2!

She came in F I R S T place for girls. woohoo.

Her best friend, Whitney came in 2nd! yay for Whit.

Jakers and Aus came flying in.....
Jakey's little legs were hoppin'

I was proud of Jake for pushing through it.

(he told me he guzzled H20 5 min. before the race! B A D)

He got 2nd last year and 5th this year. Good job toostie!

Good Job Austin!

Austin has the same 4 boys that compete to win-

He has taken first place in K, 1st and 3rd. But he was 4th this year.

Humble Pie is good sometimes.

(Makes you appreciate hard work and realizing you always have to give it your all to win.)

Quinn, his cousin in the red shirt, took 3rd place out of the 3rd grade! way to go!

Ashlyn and Whit at the award ceremony!
Yay for first and second.
It was fun to share that day with my friend Kim!
WE were proud of our girls!

Last night we took the kids out for ice cream to say good job.
We always are proud of them no matter what!

Till next year........

Past year pics of fun run in 2007 and 2008.......

do you love to run, love to run, love to run, love to run, love to run?

a houseful of love

The Stott home every day at 2:47 P.M.
School bell rings and heeeeere comes the kids. Cousins, friends, neighbor kids,
our house is the new gathering place.
But you know what?

I am thrilled.
Rather have them here than there right?

I love a clean house so when the kids get home,

I just brace myself.
And it's okay to have 1001 backbacks
and 247 shoes
all O V E R the floor.

It's funny for 7 yrs we lived 2 streets over.
What a difference just a street can make. We are so happy for the kids.
Ash and Aus now have 14 kids their age and Jakers has 17!
woohoo.
that's the life for a kid.
(Even if it means a messy, crazy house! I will take it)

Lastly, do you love my new plant creation?
Not much to it, but I needed a little splash of color in the office.
It makes me happy to look at .

The best part is that I made it for only $18 compared to $30! (taipan)

and lastly, again

we had a lovely Memorial day-

(due to cancelling Bryce Canyons camping trip cuz of hubby's broken foot we came up with new ideas:)

~hikes, bbq's, long runs, movies, dinners, and the pool!~

(see the cute girls selling lemonade?)

We stopped on the way home from the pool.I A L W A Y S try to stop and buy. It makes their little hearts so happy for a simple 25 cents

...and did you hear me say the pool?!? Yes, finally summer has arrived. I went with the sis's and cousins to our

F A V O R I T E secret pool and we were in heaven.

We have all waited so long for the happy sunshine and it is here. So everyone enjoy it! This is the best time of the year.

good times~ yes

Good thing I run and run and run.

Off to the pool and a bbq with some friends....I love holidays!

have a good one too-

Sweet moments

Do you ever have one of those days as a mother and you feel so incredibly grateful for your children? Okay we feel that every day, so I mean the love that just takes over your heart and you couldn't imagine life without your kids?

Or maybe that day you look at a certain child and have so much darn love welled up in your heart that you get the urge to hug them tight and squeeze their little bodies to yours and kiss them like a million times. That was me the other day with my
Jake.

Jakers brings so much joy to my heart everyday. His huge smile and big brown eyes makes my heart melt. His joy for life is contagious. He has a gift of optimism even in his little 7 years of life, Ry and I can already see that he lifts others up around him. He makes people laugh and smile. I love waking up each day knowing I have Jakers to lift my spirits.

So the other day he did the sweetest thing. It had been a long busy day and he saw the look on my face when I had just cooked dinner and now was moving on to the dishes. He came up to me in his deep cute voice and said,"

"Now mom, go have yourself a sit, and watch yourself a show

and I will do the dishes for you. Now go, go sit!"

Ahhh my sweet Jake, I hugged that boy and gave him the hardest "love squeeze" (that's what we call it in our house) . His little heart wanted to help his mom. So sweet.

He was very diligent, he couldn't really reach the sink filled of dishes but he tried his hardest and didn't stop until they were all done.

Love that boy and grateful for him everyday. I love love my job. I am simply blessed and feel it especially today.

Thank you Jakers for making me love being a mom.
Thank you for reminding me everyday what life's really about.

Thank's Jakers for making me and dad, Ash, Aus and Mace laugh every day.

We love you cute tootsie roll eye's! (his fav. nickname)

love you, mom

Lost Lucinda, lovely flowers, and a C R A Z Y life

Can you all relate?

End of the school year is craziness.

Life has not stopped for one second:

(but that does mean school is almost out! yay)

Year end school county reports (2 for the twins!), dioramas, class presentations, field trips,
school programs, carnivals, testing, last soccer games, class projects.....ahhhhh!

TGIF!!

And...not to mention the fact that 2 1/2 wks ago Ry tore both sides of his ankle-
He can't walk or do anything to help with our busy schedule-

In fact, he is in so much pain from being at work that he comes home and ice's his ankle the rest of the evening.
And I do feel soooo bad for him b/c it is painful
but now
I have 5 children to take care of. fun for me!
But, really, I don't mind, it has just been a lot of work and extra stress.
Love my boy...

AND I do need to say the strangest thing happened last night.
Around 7:00 P.M, we had a lost 3 year old little girl
show up on my front porch with no shoes and no shirt looking for her momma!I couldn't believe it! Really? Lost!
a 3yr old?
We had to call the cops and help find her parents.
She had walked almost a 1/2 mile on a BUSY road, with a flowing creek and crossed over to my neighborhood!

Ashlyn saw her and immediately fell in love....wanted to keep her.
Ash gave her food and a Hannah Montana jacket to wear and treated her like she was her baby sis. cute.
She told us her name was L U C I N D A.
The parents eventually called in a missing child report-
I'm just glad little Lucinda was safe and sound.
geez.

I could post a thousand pics of this week's adventures but I just don't have the time.
Maybe later on a quiet, calm summer day....

I need to be off to the next task.

BUT
I will leave you with my pretty flower pots.
They seriously make me so happy.
In my 2 minutes I get for myself, I go out and sit on my porch
and just look at my flowers.
Nice.
I hope you are all surviving the end of the year craziness too..

(woohoo it's almost summer!)

See my flowers?
Lovely- yes!
I think so.

Bear Lake Bliss and Birthday Babies

Bear Lake. Bear Lake Bear Lake. Bear Lake.
(I covet the rug above. It was in Ang's cabin entryway. I love the poppies.)

Ahh what a nice weekend we all had.
Most of the sis's and my little brother Brett went up to Idaho to Angela's (Brett's wife) a m a z i n g cabin. Her cabin is in the backdrop of the pic. Brie and Brett walking down to the beach....

It was so beautiful. gorgeous. lovely.

All the sis's went up earlier to the cabin but Misty and I drove up late due to soccer games and dance competitions....(go figure!)
She drove S O F A S T.
Going 90 on a country road blaring John Denver-
I held on tight.

Late night games, campfires, jogs on the beach, laying in the blissful sunshine, reading, eating chocolate and diet coke, and simply just having a good time!
Thank's girls for the fun memories!

Ashlyn and Austin's 10th Bday

Birthday cake, presents, cousins, movies, dinner.

Ash got a motorized scooter and Aus got an ipod shuffle-

and we didn't have a party this year! (first time ever!)
I admit I was somewhat sad not to throw a huge party for 25 kids. BUT we have no yard and no time. So they settled for more cash in their pockets.
WE still had cousins for cake and ice cream and then we had a Stott party with just ourselves.
It was so nice.

B L O W I N G the C A N D L E S

Hannah Montana movie. (loved it!)
..and don't tell the boys that I said we went. They acted like they didn't want to go but were completely entertained . Mace wouldn't stop dancing and swirling his arms the whole time. Loved Miley's songs...
We dumped our popcorn out all over the floor. oops.
luckily I talked them into a refill!

Off to dinner. Chinese food.
twins picked.
yummy orange chicken.
mixed vegetables (my fav) and Beef and Broccoli.
By the time our day was over, the kids were so tired.
They.were.out.

Happy Bday Ashlyn and Austin.

Love ya kids. Can't believe you are 10!

Am I even old enough?
