Blanket love.

My kids have full on "B L A N K E T love." oh yes. All of them. From the second they were little babies to my 10 year old. still. Their blankies bring them love. comfort. and safety.
In fact,

Mace is quite obsessed at this point. It's rather annoying dragging 9 blankets around. I hide them and he finds them. He will hunt the house down for his "mimi's" (as he calls them) AND he will NOT stop till he succeeds in finding every.single.one. So I quit trying to hide them.

I came up the other day from the basement and I found Mace,
like this:

just laying there, hanging out. For how long I asked? He said," all mornin'!"

Hmmm. I kind of felt bad. but he couldn't carry all his blankets downstairs so he just waited for me.
He's now named them all: "Daddy Baby Mimi" and "Mommy Baby mimi" are his 2 favorites. A little weird, yes, I know. But he loves them so much. He's 3 and he's happy.

he had an "entourage" (pic below) including George, his microwave and sippy cups.

Luckily for me no more baggage,

J U S T M O R E

B L A N K E T S.

9 to be exact.

Now Ashlyn got this blanket the day she was born.

Her great Grandma Dalton made her and Austin matching quilts. I loved them.

Ash has slept every single night with her blanket.

There is so much love inside all that fabric

She refuses to give it up. I wash it on delicate and try to be so careful...but it's time..

My cute talented mom made her this quilt 2 years ago.

(love the colors and fabrics!)

and then this Christmas,

made her another one:

my mom put lots of time and money into it. I really appreciate it!

It is so soft and sweet. Ash loves it. My mom is great at quilts and I love my kids get something made from Grandma.

But Ash still refuses to give ANY up.

that's okay.

it's sentimental.

Ashlyn's bed today:

All 3 lay sweetly together.

The new woven fabric mixed in with Grandma Dalton's handmade broken quilt. They are each special and unique and hold special value.

Thanks grandma and thanks mom. (it means a lot!)

and to Mace's obsession?

who knows? in kindergarten hopefully he can part. cute. (i think?!)

(and yes I assume all you mama's have kiddos who looooove their blankies too!)

You kno I never had any quilts and my Mom never made me one though she made them for so many so I am quiltless! But happy that ASH loves hers'. Its nice to be attched because this world is scary and I think it helps as Mace so cutely illustrates.

All of my kids still have blankets to. I love it. Landri took gussy to preschool every day. She can't take it now that she is in kindergarten, but I do let her take it to church every week. She is my last and I love it!

Umm yeah Amber..I remember Gussy when you went to Mexico last year and I had tote it around for Lani. The sad thing was there was nothing much left of gussy..just a little ratty tatty cloth. BUT it brought so much JOY to Lani. SO i was suuuuper careful w/ gussy.kind of grossy too! jk Your comment made me smile...i love lani!
