Thrillin' Thursdays, secret lakes, and a crazy storm

I think when I blog I realize I like to blog sometimes

just simply for the the pics more than the story.
I don't always have something really great to say, well not much ever. But I just like to put pics up and enjoy the simple moments of life.

So on to last thrillin:

Last thursday's thrillin was a little sad because it lasted

all of 59 minutes before the ragin' storm came blowin in.

but the pics sure are cool.

I was in charge of thrillin this week
and I heard of this lake....so off we went-

wasn't sure what to expect, but when we got to this lake,

we realized we had found a haven.... 20 min from Suburbia.

Wow!

It wasn't even up in the moutains or up a scary canyon.
Nope,
Daybreak Lake!
Smack in the middle of our city!
(there was an entire neighborhood of homes surrounding the lake- so fun to live so close!)

Completely man-made:
sand brought in, lake designed, fish planted, beaches built.

A W E S O M E.

(and we wished we would have known about it sooner!)

We love heading out to the lakes, so exciting to try something new!

The kiddos were excited to swim and fish.....

It was like we were at the beach in Cali.

Well sort of, minus the big waves and palm trees!

The kids ran out as fast as they could out to the water.

They swam their little hearts out.

Us mom's started lunch and we were all happy.

UNTIL
the dark clouds came rollin' in!
(all the kids playing in the Lake! cute pic)

And the storm started blowin' in .

F A S T

Ry and Mace checking it out. Mace was not liking the thunder.....(as usual)

Here it comes.

But we refused to move.

nope.

Everyone else around us cleared out fast.

Not us.

Way to much work to get to the secret lake,

we. weren't. going. anywhere!!

(I love the colors in this pic! With the gray clouds, dark mtns, green grass, the blue/gray lake water and creamy sand. perty!)

Oh boy, here comes the thunder.....
Look how dark the sky got!

We were still frolicking about the lake, bad idea when the lighting started to strike. We made the kids get out but we still thought the storm would pass us by in no time.

We still weren't leaving our new found secret lake.
but it just kept getting darker and darker and DARKER.

Well okay, maybe re-thinking......

(notice their were like 3 people left with us crazy Brown's)
Brooke and Ang holding ground.

Okay fine!

We were out of there. We were so sad to go.

It was so much working packing lunches, swimsuits, and beach stuff to stay only 59 minutes!!! But we are going back for next Thrillin.....!

I guess the storm won. These crazy Utah storms!

On the way out, we saw the newly finished Oquirrh temple! B e a u t i f u l

( WE will be going to the open house soon!)

and so much for Daybreak lake. Darn storm, we will be back.

Till next thrillin!

What's all this about SECRETS? We went to the Lake and the Temple today. Now we are off to a family reunion at a park. You have to have a special card to be at that lake. The security comes through and checks for cards and then kicks you out. My mom and two brothers live there. So be careful. The temple was beautiful. WE are going to the Lake again this week. What a pretty storm. I loved the storms lately. No storm this week. See ya tomorrow.

Oh, I hope that card thing is not true. But it makes sense for people who live there to be the only ones who can enjoy it. What if all of Suburbia started going ther? Oh no? Loved the picas and the day and lookin forward to going back!!
